Debunked: SEO Myths that are Most Certainly Not True

SEO companies in the Philippines

In the past year or so, there has been a definite rise in the competition amongst the best SEO companies in the Philippines. This is due to the fact that more and more retailers, brands, and corporations are now relying on their services to promote their products and services online.

They have proved time and time again how SEO is an effective marketing tool to use. However, there are still some groups that are reluctant to try it out. As a result, a few of them cling to some SEO myths to prove their point.

SEO myths

You don’t need SEO, just quality content

Some people are saying that all you got to do to promote your brand over the internet is to produce quality content. They even believed that it is greater than any SEO tactics.

This, of course, is merely a myth. It is true that creating quality content is significant in your online marketing. However, it will certainly not get you a wider range to reach more audience. Instead of relying just on quality content, you should combine it with SEO to develop a more effective strategy to promote your products.

Social media sites has nothing to do with SEO

There are a few individuals, who believe that social media sites have zero effects whatsoever to SEO. In some instances, they are correct with this assumption, as social media traffic is not actually a ranking factor for search engine results pages (SERPs).

But this does not mean that they cannot influence your overall online presence; because as it turns out, increasing your presence in various social media platforms builds up your discovery and indexation on different search engines.

Link building is no longer being used

Over the years, it has been said that link building is dead. But this is not entirely true, mostly because this SEO tactic is no longer what it used to be. It was able to adapt according to the times, which means that it is very much present on the internet today.

Link building, as it turns out, is time consuming. However, ultimately, it is a rewarding and worthwhile strategy that you can turn to, for it can drive traffic and increase your website’s presence altogether.

Mobile-friendliness is overrated and unnecessary

It might be correct to assume that mobile-friendliness is overrated. But given the number of people, who prefer to use their smartphones and mobile devices over their computers, it’s safe to say that it is justified.

By no means, however, can it be considered as unnecessary. Google, the top search engine in the world today, is even recognizing its relevance, as it considers a website’s mobile optimization as one of its ranking factors.

SEO is dead

The most popular myth uttered about SEO is about it being dead. A number of people have in fact spoken about this in their own events and conferences. But this is not actually true.

SEO in its traditional and old ways is dead. However, its more modernized and contemporary strategies have survived and are even thriving today. Just take a look at the companies that are able to rank on various search engines. You can safely assume that most of them are able to reach that kind of success through the help of SEO.

These SEO myths you can see above have no true claims. You can rest assured that they are merely what they call themselves – myths. Don’t let them stop you from using them in order to promote your business or brand online. You just might surprise yourself with how well it may work out for you if you try them!
